I just bought three of these RCA ViSYS 25424RE1 phone models. I am very impressed with how good they look in my office. To my delight, they work great! I thought I'd have to pay much more for good working phones. Intercom, caller-id, directory, speaker is loud and clear. There is no dialing lag with these, as I have read about with other phones.
I didn't experience any issues with the batteries yet, either, though I will probably put each phone on a UPS, along with the desktop PCs, and one in the tele-com closet. Vonage can do an automatic re-route of calls to my cell phone in case of an outtage, but it's better to be able to get through small power interruptions for phone and data.
The only thing I was dissappointed about, but I should have read about, is that each phone requires two in-bound tele cables to use all four lines on the phone. Not a big deal, but I had to get a phone tech to help me re-wire the wall jacks. He had to punch down those cables in the tele-com closet and rig them up to work with the two Vonage adapter boxes, anyway. Everything is smooth as Velveeta now.

I bought 3 originally for my office. Have since added 5 more. (one broke while under warranty). I am really impressed with what a nice business phone it is and how "plug and play" it really works. Love the 4 line capability, the extensive feature set is really geared toward a small business -- like mine. Also use the answering machine/attendant, the cordless handset and the headset. Really wish they offered a wireless headset (added aftermarket). Definitely recommend this phone if extensions are wanted.

Amazon has been great, I must say, but the RCA product I purchased sucks. I recently purchased this phone, it stopped working after a day. Then I was sent another phone, it too started malfuncitoning within a week. RCA will only replace the phone if I pay for shipping, which is ridiculous. Two bad phones, inconvenience, and I have to pay for it???? Spoke with Heather in the Waeverton, Oregon office who was not at all helpful, although she was the highest supervisor there or available. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT....SAVE YOURSELF THE AGRRAVATION!

I have three of these phones in my small office. Recently, the corded handset on one of them stopped working. The customer support line initially wouldn't believe me when I said the problem was intermittent. Then they said it wasn't possible to buy a replacement handset. In 50 years of buying phones, I've NEVER had a handset fail, but inability to purchase a replacement for so simple a part makes this a worst-buy.

At first, loved this phone. Everything worked well. 6 1/2 months after purchase, speaker phone started acting up - I couldn't be heard by the callers on the other end. Then it all went; speaker phone first - loud buzzing and inability to hear and be heard, then I couldn't call out or receive calls. A total dissapointment. If not for the other reviews, I would have thought I just got a lemon.
